We've been using these implants, 4.7 mg, for about three years now
with excellent results. Every so often a furkid doesn't respond, but
most do. I get them annually and have had only one that needed it any
sooner. Since such a high %age of ferrets will develop adrenal, we
generally have one inserted as soon as there is any sign at all, most
commonly hair loss on the back feet, sometimes increased aggression.
This is for both males & females. We do not do any testing. Some vets
are even recommending that all ferrets get an implant when they turn
three as a preventative. Here the cost is $140-$176 including
isoflurane to put them out briefly.

Good Luck!
