We lost another special little one today, Onyx. Onyx was a rescue from Rainbow Exotics. He was rescued in Colorado by Gerri and joined our family in early 2006. Onyx was a spitfire in his early days and he along with Dante, Sully and Dippy were caged when I was away because they were one of three beastie groups that would bully the milder ferrets. Dippy is still with us. Onyx and Simba were good friends and each loved Nbones as much as the other. They often shared their Nbones, both chewing on the same one. After Simba died Onyx started to rapidly decline. Sunday Onyx followed me around begging for Nbones. After his 4th I told him no more and he crawled into his favorite sleepy sack in a bed. Yesterday morning he was up a bit, ate breakfast, then snuggled back into his sack. He slept most of the day in either one bed or the other. I checked on him frequently till I went to sleep after 1am. This morning sometime between 1am and 5am Onyx went to sleep never to awaken. RIP my love. tle www.ferretfamilyservices.org [Posted in FML 7610]
