Be careful to not confuse studies in which mineral oil is used an a vehicle for an ADDED impurity, (such as in the given PubMed citation) with what is present in the normal foodgrade mineral oil. Mineral oil of food grade level makes a good matrix for conveying a whole range of things partly because it is rather innocuous so the effects of the studied additive can be better isolated for study. Personally, on their skin I prefer olive oil be used when an oil is needed, but... That is also a good moisturizer for human skin, as is washing with whole milk. Sometimes there are some very ancient and affordable solutions that still work well. [Posted in FML 7546]
