http://www.biomedcentral.com/content/pdf/1746-6148-8-137.pdf Many thanks to HL who said that i did not need to credit her for finding this so I am only using initials. It is an article onthe Lyme bacterium in two mustelids, Vormela and European Mink. Caution w possible early instar tick exposures could therefore perhaps make sense for ferrets, too. Instars are life stages w the ticks, and the very young ones, the pinhead ticks which have recently been feeding on the ground nesting rodents who are the reservoirs of Lyme Disease, are the ones who pass it along. I do not have time to read it tonight so you and i will be enjoying it at about the same times. [Posted in FML 7525]
