My little DEW, lil Girl, who was always a whirling dervish, began to
slow down and speed bump. Her veterinarian, the good Dr. LaBonde,
diagnosed an enlarged spleen and also began to monitor her. It became a
difficult thing for her to play at her usual pace with this huge organ
growing along her belly wall, until she practically dragged herself
here and there. With no other avenues in sight, Dr. LaBonde removed her
spleen, checked her all over inside and pronounced her cured. Lil Girl
lived two more years and only finally succumbed to insulinoma. Dr.s'
thoughts were that the one had nothing to do with the other. So we had
a good (?) experience with splenectomy.
