Several people are a little upset, because, for more than one year, the shelter(s) they worked so hard to shop and make things for won't even return emails asking if gifts have been recieved. One lady said she will no longer send to shelters at Christmas because of this, that she goes way out her way to make gifts and spends hundreds of dollars, to be ignored. She has been responding to pleas to "pick one more ferret", and so in that, I am asking all sheters, as all ferrets were cleared, to please say "Thank You" to your Santas'. They have gone out of their way to shop, or make gifts for you little ones and have taken money away from their own ferrets and households, sometimes money that they don't have to give. I know some of you think that it should all be the joy of giving, but when people go so far out of their way, they like to hear a simple "Thank You", and hear how the little ones liked the gift, or how it will help the shelter. I will also tell you that if shelters expect people to continue to be generous, they had better acknowlege the gifts they are sent and be gracious, no matter how small, or people simply will not be picking ferrets again. I know that it it a noble thing you are doing with the shelters, but it is also a good thing the Santas' are doing in giving to the ferrets. I am a stickler about manners, myself, and have had one shelter already ignore me, with repeated emails, and I can tell you I will not send to that shelter again, I will be picking the shelters who have responded to me. I will attempt to get the other people who are upset to continue to give as well, but please, shelter parents, I know you are busy, but you had time to post your ferrets didn't you? ~Gerri .....Because Nice matters.
