I have been feeding NV's rabbit based kibble (mixed with Evo ferret)
to my shelter babies for about a year now. I started doing so as an
alternative protein source as well as out of concern when I first heard
that Natura was being sold to P & G. I work at a privately owned pet
supply store and have had the opportunity to speak with a NV rep about
the fact that their rabbit (as weel as their duck) is sourced from
China. He explained to me that they need to do this because NV is
unable to get enough of these two meats to satisfy their production
needs from the US. He told me that they have inspectors that check the
animals at the source, when they arrive at production plants, when meat
leaves China and again when it reaches US. I also called the company
and was told the same thing. This coupled with the fact that the
company does not tried to "hide" the fact that their rabbit and duck
comes from China (many pet food companies make it very difficult to
find out where their meat is sourced from) made me feel comfortable
with feeding this kibble. My guys all like it. Some love it, picking
it out of the mix ahead of the evo. As far as I know, this is the only
grain-free rabbit based kibble on the market. I personally feel that
it makes a very good addition to a ferret's diet.

Hope that this information helps you.
