I haven't seen the FHL response requesting more info, but someone did email me directly. As a recap, the ferret is pooping all the time, just usually small little stools. She can be walking and have a bowel movement and seemingly not even realize it. The stool is normal. She has advanced adrenal disease w/a very enlarged vulva, 3/4 hair loss and increased body temperature. I've had her two weeks. She has been sub-qued five times in two weeks due to dehydration, presumably from the increased body temp. Age is unknown, but approx. 2-4 years. With the loss of fur, it's hard to tell. Her teeth are in relatively good condition and toenails seem to be fine. Other than this, she is a very active ferret, staying up twice as long as my ferrets usually do. She was seen by the vet today. He checked her over and couldn't find anything, even saying the anus seems to have good tone so she's not just releasing due to relaxation of the muscle. His best suggestion was the advanced adrenal disease is affecting her internally, either via a tumor pressing on things or in other ways. She goes in for adrenal surgery Monday. Any other thoughts are welcome. Debbie, Kindness Matters Ferret Rescue Check out our auction / raffle sites to raise ferret rescue funds.
