Tracy, Yes, IMO you are a Grinch. The season is for GIVING and the shelters usually get left out if it weren't for the Giving Tree. I myself have never posted 10-20 kids on the tree and this year will be only 2 as that is all I currently have in rescues. Posting the rescue kids is also another way in hopes of some of these kids finding their forever homes but with many of us rescues & shelters taking in special needs kids it really helps when someone pics them off the tree to help with vet care and supplies as many of us do not get donations through out the year. (BTW, being liscensed rescue myself, not only do I post the kids in my rescue but I also play Santa to ferrets in other rescues/shelters. and have done so for about 5yrs) Allowing kids to be posted starting October 15th, gives the Santa a chance to shop and many Santas send their gifts early especially is the furkid is terminal and this may be their last Christmas. The holidays is not a time to be selfish, but a time to be Giving and hopefully not expect anything in return. I'm speaking from being on both sides of the fence and this is IMO but I do believe many will share my feelings. Although I may not have much to give what I do have I do share. I may not be able to afford what is posted on the furkids wish list but I do send what I think they will need and at least one thing I feel they will like. When I give a gift to someone I may have never met it gives me a warm fuzzy feeling. Debi Fuzzy Loving Ferrets Rescue [Posted in FML 7214]
