The Oregon Ferret Shelter in Oregon City, Oregon, will be holding its annual fundraiser for its shelter ferrets, Weasels Dancing in the Park. The event will be at Hammerle Park in West Linn, Oregon, on Saturday, August 27th, 2011, from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m. This fundraiser will help the shelter raise money to give food, bedding, litter, and medical care to their more than 200 resident ferrets. At Weasels Dancing in the Park, there will be a live auction with a variety of items for the ferret fan and non-ferret fan alike to bid on. There will also be pet items for sale, such as pet bedding, toys, and other items. Proceeds from the auction and the sales will go towards the care and keeping of the shelter's residents. And the best part of the day: games for the ferrets! Ferret owners will cheer their pets on in contests of speed, strength, and just plain adorability in events such as the Tube Race, the Pop Can Tip, and Shortest or Longest Tail. All animals involved will get a special participation ribbon, and special certificates will be given to the first three winners in each category. So come by Hammerle Park on Saturday, August 27th, between the hours of 10:00 a.m. and 4:00 p.m., and watch some ferrets get their fun on for a good cause! (Hammerle Park is located at 1505 Lewis St., West Linn, Oregon.) Don't forget to bring your weasel!
