Dear Sue, I lay here, all comfortable, with kits sleeping in my hammie. I read to them from their favorite book, "Air Ferrets Aloft" by Richard Bach, and watched tenderly, as they one by one, fell asleep. Wookie was among them, you should see how he has grown. He looks as healthy and as lively as any kit should, and he is so sweet and funny with that small stubby tail of his. The Big Guy dotes on him, as he does to all those who have left before their lives was lived. Hobbes came to me, came in quietly, so as not to wake my sleeping business. He told me all about Emmit, in hushed whispers, and that he had dispatched Aires to come and receive him from you. Yes I know that Aires can be a trouble maker, but he's a lovable trouble maker you know. As Hobbes told me all about Emmit, I saw four other noses rise above my hammie and before me were Edward and Bam Bam of the two rainbows, and Frye and Tube, also of your heart where there. I gently, and with help from all around, moved out of the hammie, and left Hobbes to care for the wee ones and off we went. We each grabbed a lantern, and to the Bridge went we. The night was cool, and still a bit crisp, but beautiful and peaceful. The stars were bright and the moon was full and dreamy and we were able to set aside our lanterns and move forward without care. Even before we reached the Bridge, we could see it's glow. It was bright, yet it did not blind us, instead it caused us to haste our travel and run all sleek and fast as polecat can do. As we reached the edge of the clearing where the Bridge sat, Emmit came bounding over, with all the energy of a kit- much like the cute little ones still in my hammie - and full of good cheer, war dancing, and dooking. His first reaction was to bounce off of everyone and everything, just because he could, and who wouldn't? Then he ran up to, and hugged all of us. It was such a strong hold too, made me go "oooffff" and then he told me that, and I quote "Best tell my mom, who is my mom, even if her first name is Shelter, that I love her and that WAS my home. I wasn't meant to go anywhere but as part of her heart, and she has one bigger then the state of Arkansas!!! I LOVE YOU MOM!!!" Short, sweet and to the point, just like a ferret! Ok, so we are more tubular then short, but we are still very sweet! In Love & In Comfort, Pie O' Pah [Posted in FML 7002]
