I should also have mentioned that bird, ie chicken, bones, and mouse bones are much thinner and easily broken than human bones which are very dense. So yes while a ferret will break thru a chicken bone when eating or even a mouse bone, a human albeit baby finger is a whole different material- even a very young baby whose bones may be more pliable but not more breakable. Remember these bones were broken off- the fingers were gone- A ferret did not do this- as also evidenced by the fact that they found no human material in the ferret's stomach and it was killed supposedly in the act of chewing off and eating finger number 7- The misinformation out there will now cause perhaps thousands of people to surrender their ferets and prevent hundreds of adoptions. The harm to the ferret community will be felt for a long time. Beth www.crittercamp.biz [Posted in FML 6945]
