It was a lovely day at de Bridge. SaraFerret was sweeping the front steps of her cottage when she saw Mimi, de little girl courier, fly up. Mimi was short of breath and said, "Oh SaraFerret, there is a young ferret who is crossing the Bridge. The Boss has requested someone greet him. I know you have been busy, but... Now do you want me to get the ones this nice person has requested to stand by?" She handed me the note and I read it with a deep sigh. So of course I told her of course to get them and where they should be and I flew off to the entrance. I was just in time to see the Angel of Mercy bring a young fuzzy across to me (almost to my feet). The Angel looked at me with sad eyes and departed leaving the little, confused fuzzy behind. So I quickly introduced myself, "Hi I am SaraFerret and I am de bridgegreeter. Welcome to de Rainbow Bridge. Dis is your new forever home. Here you will find happiness; you will have lotsa food; have lotsa friends; and run on green grass forever. Did I mention de fun and games?" The fuzzy said, "I don't know anything about a bridge. I don't know anything about a home; I thought I had one; but I guess I didn't. How do I know this one won't disappear like the last one did? I don't even know my name. Do you know my name? Can you fix my crooked neck and fix this zipper in my belly and my shaved fur? Maybe I am just a bad ferret and just worthless and no good for nothing. Were you a bad ferret too? Is that why you are here?" I replied, "First of all, you need a name. Let's see. How about "Jackson." Now that is a nice name. You did have a home, but unfortunately it didn't turn out to be the best one for you. Some homes are like that. Of course you are NOT A BAD FERRET. None of us here are bad fuzzies. You are worth something; we were created for joy and all were created for a purposed and sadly you didn't get to dance very long. As for myself, I was not bad, let's see, I was a "naughty ferret. And as for your crooked neck and your zipper just check yourself-see if they are okay as they were before all this happened." Jackson twisted his neck and sure enough it worked and looked down at his belly and "no zipper." Then I told him he was gonna get a big surprise. He was gonna get wings. And of course he had no idea why he need those. I showed him my wings and gave a short demo of mine. He was very impressed. Hey this bridge place was starting to seem very attractive, even better than that earth that he had just left. So I told him to follow me. But as we started down the path we were met by a large group of fuzzies who introduced themselves as the "Paws to the Wall Gang." "Hi, I am Spree, Brownie, Zander, Lucky, Lucy, and Little Bit. They wanted to welcome him to the bridge. So we continued down the path to the Wing House where the wings were stored. We opened the door (we had to leave the door open as it was getting crowded with all of these fuzzies). And on the counter was a big box marked--Jackson. He ran to the counter and took out his wings--Neon blue with silver tips--perfect for a little fuzzy who had spent such a short time on earth. We helped him with his wings and Spree adjusted his halo. Then he ran to the big vanity mirror and gazed at his reflection. Then he turned to me and said, "Gee I wish there was someone on earth who could appreciate how beautiful I am now and how good I am." Then we all got an idea. So we all left there and went down the path to the Misting Pond. We sat down beside the cool clear water and with one swish we saw the vision of Missy Jill appear. Jackson got so excited he started waving and dooking with all of his might. "Thank you for caring about me. Please let all the others who care about me know that I love them too." Then he began to throw hugs and kisses and laid them on a nearby shooting star which was headed to the caring ones of earth and by the time you should read this it should have landed at each of your hearts. And with another swish de vision was gone. So we left there and went down de road to the Paws To The Wall Cottage. Oh there was food galore and music a-playing. We all started dancing. I kept looking around to introduce Jackson to others, but then I found him stuffing food as fast as he could into his mouth. Lucy ran up to him and said, "Jackson, there will be plenty of food forever. There is no need for you to eat that much at once." Jackson said, "MMMPPH" (meaning his mouth was full). (Hey he didn't know.) So he swallowed what he had and wiped the chocolate from his face, well most of it, anyway. And began to dance. It looked like Jackson was happy in his new forever home.
