I would personally like to give a special thank you to the people or familys that chose the ferrets in our rescue system. Over the last 15 years I have managed the Educated Ferret rescue. Three years ago I had to close to normal rescues business because of medical issues. When Diddy at the MAFF rescue had to close for a while for medical reasons I started intaking and adopting out in a much smaller scale. This fall I was informed that the MAFF rescue was closing permently on the last day of this year so our rescue numbers are slowly crawling up again. Also our local animal rescue had a very large amount of ferrets this fall so back to emergency intakes, and adoptions. With the economy being as it is this is the first time we have ever posted ferrets on the giving tree. What a wonderful response from the ferret community. We now have several permenent ill or older ferrets in our foster care system that are going to have an extra special Christmas. They, have extra new bedding, treats, toys, food, and one family even sent a donation for our vet bill. Now if Santa sends us one more special family for adoption we will have enough for adrenal surgery on a little female I picked up today from our local animal rescue. God has always been very good in caring for the rescue ferrets here and the generosity of the ferret community is so very much appreciated. Merry Christmas to all the FML ferret familys.
