A dab of vaseline on a terry towel sounds like a good thing to try. Thank you, Kim for the suggestion. I actually managed to clean the glued whiskers simply by waiting. I think that the combination of dry air from the wood stove, and the dust-jacket adhering to the sap dried it out. I was able to remove the gunk with a gentle tug betwixt index finger pad and thumbnail. Now Todd has a fine white rack to be proud of, once more. Alexandra in MA [Posted in FML 6906]
