As I understand it, USDA licensing is required if over $500 animals per year is sold to distributors, dealers, etc. The USDA files posted yesterday included the Sunshine State Ferrets website from January 2008, documenting many Carolina Ferrets for sale through a distributor at that time. Additionally, http://archive.org/ has copies of the Carolina Ferrets website for many years at http://ferrets.htmlplanet.com/ August 2, 2001, the Carolina Ferrets website said, "For quantity orders, deduct 15% on orders of 6 or more kits. Wholesale and distributer prices available--quotes by quantity ordered." Decmber 31, 2007, the Carolina Ferrets website said, "Shipping to countries outside of the USA will only be available to brokers and distributers with the proper export licenses and permits." Both of those quotes are in the following PDF, in case archive.org is down or slow: https://www.yousendit.com/download/aHlSQndNQ1BPSHhFQlE9PQ [SP] [Posted in FML 6806]
