I don't have alot of time to post as I've had some very sick shelter kids.. First, we got the new starin of coccidia. The new kid gave us that, the parylized boy, Stewart. Tyhen as we did the second set of stool samples, we sent some to the labs as we saw blood still. They came back yesterday & stated " E Coli, drug resistant, likely from undercooked poultry." We all know we cook the poultry for the soups our kids comsume. I put mine in a 8 qt crock pot for at least 24-36 hrs on high. Still, we got E Coli. As for the stool samples, I'd just gathered papers from around their rooms. The vet scooped up from each paper & a *mass* speciman was sent. So, we don't know who has it for sure yet. We are using tests strips with the stools to see whom has boold in it. My vet is good & has been doing research, as I have, to see what meds may work with this. Tetracycline..Vet called & meds will be here on Monday. This can happen to any one of us that cooks meats for our kids to eat. I got mine from Wal Marts, as it's just 2 miles from my home. -- Sandi Robinson Heaven Scent Ferret Rescue/Shelter Midland City,Al 36350 334-873-4065 http://fuzzyslave.com http://www.petfinder.com/shelters/AL132 A 501-3c ,no kill we always need volunteers Please help us with funding & do a Good Search with us!!
