No. 421 and Oliver had been very busy, greeting new fuzzy's and trying to work around the cabin between showers. He and Oliver had dined on trout the other night, and he thought he might go fishing. He had not been fishing in a while and those fish tasted awfully good. Just then Oliver came running up. He had a box of bait in one hand, and a piece of paper in the other. "What cha got?" No. 421 asked. "Here, I'll take the bait." Oliver caught his breath and said he had seen Bluebird flying this way. "I asked her what was up, and she told me we has a fuzzy to greet," Oliver said. "Seems one of Sandi Robinson's ferrets is coming." "Uuhhmm says he has family here," No. 421 said. "Oliver, go down to the Meadow of Dreams and see if you can find Charlie, Child, Angelica, Bandit, somebody from the Robinson Retreat to greet him. I'll head on up to the Bridge and wait. Now, Oliver, don't be long, I want to catch some fish." No. 421 had just settled himself down when the floorboards on the Bridge began to creak. A big white albino ferret had just stepped up on the Bridge. "Hello, who goes there," No. 421 called. "I'm Snoop-the second," the ferret said. "Where am I? What is this place anyway? I was not feeling well, than I went to sleep. Now I'm here." "Son" No. 421 said. "This is the Rainbow Bridge and I am a greeter. We were expecting you, and Oliver; my currier is out looking for your family now. We'll wait a few minutes and I'm sure he will be right along." "While we are waiting, can I send a message home to my Mom and my buddy?" The big feller said. "I want her to know I made it here and I love her, and I want to tell my buddy Smoke I'll fix a space for him in my room, if I get one." Shooting Star heard the request and swooped down by the Bridge. Before she could ask about the message, Oliver came running up the path with several ferrets in tow. Snoop The Second could not believe his eyes. "Hey fellers," he said. "You guys for real? Charlie, Karintha, Child, Angelica, Bandit, Poto, is that really you?" "Snoop-2 Snoop-2 hey ol' buddy, you are a sight to see," Charlie said. "Hey Bandit, hurry up, Snoop-2 is here." The ferrets all hugged and dooked and hug some more. Then Snoop The Second said he would like to tell Mom Sandi that he was at the Bridge, he was with family, and thank her for being such a great Mom. Tell my Buddy Smoke that I miss him, but I'll be here to greet him when he comes this way." He bundled up a few hugs and kisses for Sandi and gave them all to Shooting Star. She patted him on the head took the hugs and kisses and tucked his message under the top most point. "I'll see that Mom Sandi gets this message and all these kisses I'll give to Gentle Breeze," Shooting Star said. "On his next trip he makes her way, he will blow softly on her cheek and leave all these kisses from you." And with that, she sped away. Bandit and Charlie took Snoop The Second by the paw and told him they had an extra room that was vacant. He could have it and fix it up any way he wanted. They thanked No. 421 for helping Snoop The Second and the seven ferrets skipped off down the hill. Oliver and No. 421 started back to the cabin. There was plenty of daylight left so No. 421 sent Oliver to see The Receiving Angel. If there were no more greetings for today, he would be down by the brook fishing. Oliver came back with a message, if your going fishing, catch one for me, the angel had said. The two friends went back to the cabin, changed clothes, and No. 421 wrote in his logbook the mission was accomplished. Snoop The Second was with family, and he and Oliver were going fishing. And picking up their fishing poles, they headed out for the brook. [Posted in FML 6745]
