Hi guys *waves* !! Kim here from Stinky Pete's Ferret Retreat in Florida. About 3 weeks ago I rescued an older adrenal boy who was in pretty bad shape. Wounds everywhere, fleas in the fur he had left and a swollen wounded eye. Not to mention a bruised tummy and sores on the pads of his feet. Some one you might have seen his pictures on my facebook. His name is Capone because he's a tough guy! He must of been left outside to fend for himself for a long time. We think he was living under the lady's house that called me. Thank goodness she did because here in Florida he wouldn't of lasted much longer. He's looking a lot better these days. Lately his skin has become real dry. His only bath was when I got him in to get the caked off dirt and fleas off. He might be a little dehydrated but not to the point he needs to be sub q'd. He's active, eats and drinks well and poops are pretty good. What I would like to know is something I could do for his skin. Something that would be safe for him and his new sisters that like to clean/flea him. Yes, he is quite the Romeo. I was hoping that the hair loss was from malnourishment and I was going to wait a little to see if any hair growth started which it hasn't yet. In a couple weeks we will get an appointment at the vets for his lupron/melatonin treatment. Any suggestions would be helpful for dry skin. Thanks in advance :) Kim Kelly -- We will not know peace until all of the unprotected and unloved are encircled by strong, caring arms. Author Unknown [Posted in FML 6728]
