Hey all, Brooke here, checking in from about a mile or so East of the Nashville airport. My neighborhood was spared from the flooding, but it really is as bad as some of you may have seen on the news. Anderson Cooper from CNN was out here all day yesterday after he heard about how bad it was and basically wanted to "make it right", because we hadn't received much National media coverage. Though I don't know about Sisters Grapetail, I have been in contact with Tim of Colesferry and his place was spared also. I went to Metro Animal Control first thing on Monday and gave my contact info, should any ferrets come in. So far, I haven't heard anything from them, so that's a good sign. Following, is a link to a News Channel 5 SWAT rescue video. At about 2:40 in on the video, there's a man named Austin Acuff Who made it out with his 2 ferrets. I have no idea where he went, but looking at the property website for the area, it looks like his house may be right down the street from my friend who I'm helping clean up. I'll walk down that way when I go out today and see if that's him and if he needs anything for the ferrets. I lost my job about 6 weeks ago, so I can't do much, but I've got a ton of ferret hammies and bedding and can spare some food. Most of the homeowners in that area were finally let back in yesterday (or possibly late Wednesday) to start cleaning and demo...the area was packed with people throwing EVERYTHING they own out on the curb. Here's the link to the news video. <http://tinyurl.com/2achcl6> Brooke (high and dry and helping those less fortunate) "Madness does not always howl.
