I'm guessing this question will elicit and huge response so I'll be brief. I could write a book on ferret emotions on what I've seen through 25+ yrs of living with ferrets. They certainly do have compassion and every other emotion as well. I have a very senior female who was pretty much a loner most of the time she's been with me. Now that she's older and slowing way down, several of the ferrets seek her out to snuggle with. Banshee who is a not so snuggly fuzzie, will cuddle with Lelo where ever she finds her sleeping. I've had Banshee for 2-3 years and it was only recently that she started sleeping with Lelo. When Ferris was with us he would sleep with the terminal ferrets and if someone passed during the night I'd find Ferris snuggled with them to try and keep them warm. When Serena the ferruppy came home after being spayed, the ferrets were quite calm for a few days and I'd frequently find someone laying near Serena watching her. I've seen ferrets comfort their companions many times throughout the years. ly open our eyes and hearts. It isn't that ferrets don't show emotions, it is that some humans don't see them. tle www.ferretfamilyservices.org [Posted in FML 6650]
