Not so fast on the thought that ferrets cannot get kennel cough. I
volunteer for a shelter where several ferrets were diagnosed with
kennel cough by a well respected ferret knowledgable vet. While there
is only one dog (healthy, but very old)) in residence, the directors
often pick up ferrets from the local humane society and other animal
shelters in the area. It is contagious and can happen. They were very
prompt in getting it taken care of, but it took all of us, including
the directors, by surprise when it was diagnosed.
