Yesterday, Alexandra mentioned that she has never seen a number put
on raisins as to how many are too many for a ferret.

Several years ago, my vet did an article for ferrets magazine on the
dangers of feeding raisins to ferrets. In it, he explained that for
dogs and cats, it is known how many raisins can pose a problem. It
is based on weight, and is basically the same for both cats and dogs.
Using that, he calculated that as few as 7 or 8 raisins fed at one
time could cause acute renal failure in an average adult early spayed
or neutered ferret.

The effect of raisins does not seem to be cumulative, so if a ferret
eats a raisin or two once in a while, there is not likely to be a
problem.

However, as Alexandra pointed out, the ferret digestive tract is not
built for digesting plant matter, and so avoiding raisins altogether
is probably your best bet.
