After much waiting, I finally received a call from Lanette regarding the 100 Oregon ferrets. She stated that many had already been given away and that there were probably about 60 - 75 left. I was able to contact someone in the area who could effect the removal of some of the ferrets. This individual went to the house and found about 30 hobs, and about 60 ferrets that had been spayed/neutered. Over the course of last weekend, individuals went into the home and removed them, some being kept by those who took them and 47 being placed in the safe area. The 47 ferrets have been ADV tested and all results have been negative so far. They will be vetted and vaxed prior to their placement in homes. Food is being supplied to them through Totally Ferret. The name and location of the safe area are not being disclosed at this time. However, if you live in the eastern Oregon, southern Washington, southern Idaho, northern Utah area and would be interested in a ferret or two, or would like to help transport ferrets to a new home, please send the information to Lisa O. at [log in to unmask] or call her at 301-593-0773 after 5:30 EST and leave a message. As I said, the ferrets are safe for now. Those of you wishing to donate may donate cash to assist with the vets, vax and ADV testing to Support Our Shelters (SOS). Food donations may be made through April at Totally Ferret. In a nutshell: CASH DONATIONS to Support Our Shelters: Support Our Shelters (S.O.S) is a 501(c)3 non-profit charity.
