I just want to find out what everyone feeds their ferret(s). When I adopted my 2, they were on a really icky ferret food and I'm in the process of slowly changing them over to Zupreem. So far, there hasn't been any diarrhea and they aren't picky or finicky about it - they just munch it down like their other food. I've been told by a lot of people that you should feed more than one brand of ferret food. Some people say 3 is best, others say 2 is fine, and others say that you should feed 4. Also - I live in a small town and it's difficult for me to find a lot of stuff. The Zupreem is available at my local pet shop for a really good price. So if I could find a decent ferret food in a kitten formula at my local feed store (I live in a rural area) then that would be fantastic. Is Science Diet kitten good? Or should I just scrap that idea and shop for ferret food exclusively online? I'm also considering adding some raw supplementation into their diets. I was told by a specialist that they can eat raw meat - chicken, beef, turkey, lamb, NO pork, no ground meats only cuts. He also said that ferrets can eat eggs - but they should be cooked because there is some kind of compound in them that can cause hair loss when eaten raw. He also said that if possible, I should try to cook the eggs in something other than butter or oil...so if anyone has any experience in this, please let me know! I want my ferrets to be as healthy as possible. I'm not interested in hearing about the whole kibble vs. raw vs. live debate. I've heard the arguments before. I just want some advice on brands of kibble, supplementing with raw, and eggs and how to cook them. Not to sound rude or anything, I just don't want to start that whole thing up again! Thanks for reading! [Posted in FML 6467]
