Reading about the Giving tree has made me think -- (and that`s dangerous!! LOL) It isn`t just about a tree. The spirit of Christmas is in the heart of a woman on a fixed income who PayPals $5.00 every month to her favorite sanctuary. The spirit of Christmas is in a man who drives an hour every Saturday to scrub the floor at his favorite shelter -- and in the heart of a woman who volunteers, after a hard day of work... The spirit of Christmas is in the heart of someone who never comes empty-handed when she comes to visit & play with the ferrets. She brings Ferretone, paper towels, baby meats, toys & treats -- and a welcome smile. The spirit of Christmas is in the heart of a woman who reads about a little ferret girl`s emergency surgery, and even though she has many ferrets of her own to pay for, she sends some money to help towards that surgery. The spirit of Christmas is in the heart of yet another woman who not only sends a check to help with the surgery, she sends some of her lovely, handmade bedding to the heroic vet who stayed after hours & saved the little ferret girl`s life. The spirit of Christmas is in the heart of someone who visits a ferret facility like ours, and then winds up sponsoring one of those ferrets. The spirit of Christmas is in someone who periodically orders, & sends yummy ferret treats to be delivered on the shelter`s doorstep--with a loving, encouraging note inside. The spirit of Christmas is not just a December thing -- It`s an ALWAYS thing. Sending much love & appreciation to all who have partnered with us, year round, in the care of the ferrets.
