Dakota had a cardiac ultrasound which did not show any heart-worms or secondary signs of heart-worms. It did show he had a moderate to sever aortic regurgitation with mild enlargement of the left atrium and left ventricle. The veterinary cardiologist did not feel that he was at risk for congestive heart failure at this time and we need to monitor it as he ages. She felt that he did have the abnormal changes within his lungs and he may have pneumonia. Dakota doesn't cough but we are going to start him on antibiotics for pneumonia. One thing we have not done is a barium series to see if he has a hairball and we will explore that possibly if the antibiotics don't help. Thank you to all who have offered suggestions and ideas.
