The BFF kits will be 5 weeks old on Saturday. I didn't notice what date they started offering solid food (meat) to the kits, but as a ferret breeder I start offering mush to my jill's kits when they are 3 weeks old. I did notice a bowl of 'food' in the nest box last week when I tuned in to see the kits. Domestic and BFF kits will start eating solid food and also continue to nurse until they are about 5-6 weeks old. Domestic ferrets tend to nurse a bit longer than the BFF's and it looked like last week that the jill was starting to wean the kits by not allowing them to nurse whenever they wanted. Hope this helps!
