Actually, Debi, that is not a problem, because most AFA shows do not allow ferrets who are not for sale or not being shown into the showhall - period. So, a spectator does not need to know the requirements, since their ferrets will not be allowed into the showhall. From the Buckeye Bash 2009 show packet: "ALL ferrets entered in the show hall, including those offered for sale must be between 16 weeks and 6.5 years old. All ferrets entered in and/or for sale at the show must have been vaccinated for Canine Distemper and USDA approved Rabies between the dates of Aug. 24, 2008 and August 15, 2009. At this time the only USDA approved rabies vaccination is IMRAB-3. ACCEPTABLE PROOF OF VACCINATION for rabies vaccination is a veterinary certificate stating the name of the vaccine or the manufacturer (listing FERRET RABIES only is NOT ACCEPTABLE). Please provide your original documentation at check-in for entry into the show hall. HOFA staff or a vet/vet tech will be checking the vaccination records for each ferret entering the show hall. Proof of Canine Distemper vaccination will not be required but you must sign a Canine Distemper waiver stating your ferret is vaccinated for Canine Distemper. You are still responsible for the health of your ferret, so out of consideration for all other attendees and their ferrets, PLEASE DO NOT BRING A SICK FERRET TO THE SHOW. Check in will be from 8:00 am until 9:30 am on Saturday. NO ONE may enter the show hall prior to this time." And: "All ferrets entering the show hall must provide proof of negative ADV (Aleutian's Disease Virus) testing between the dates of February 28, 2009 and August 28, 2009. Testing must be by the Blue Cross CEP Test or the Avecon ELISA Saliva Test and results must be: 1) on tester's original result's letterhead; 2) testing date must be on the letter and within the stated period; 3) ferret names must be on the testing result's letter (names must match show entry). Avecon POCT instant tests are NOT ACCEPTABLE. A letter from your vet is NOT ACCEPTABLE. Faxes or copies are NOT ACCEPTABLE." And Finally: "NO OTHER ANIMALS IN THE SHOW HALL, PLEASE!!" So, all ferrets coming into the showhall must come in between 8:00 and 9:30, and must either be entered in the show or for sale. End of discussion. I hope this clears things up for you.
