Good for you Marlene!! I have used it for years and will never use anything else. There are arguments out there that Galaxy was not tested long enough (I believe 21 days) in the "LAB" but there are a few things people are forgeting about or may not realise. 1) Galaxy D was tested on FERRETS to prove it's effectivness for protecting our canine counterparts against CDV which "IS" the distemper virus ferret can contract. 2) Although not tested for long in the lab, it WAS field tested in many FERRET shelters/rescues for "Years" across the US for it's effectiveness at protecting our ferrets against CDV. 3) It's effectiveness was also proven again at two ferret shows, 1 in Maryland and 1 in Ohio, when a CDV infected ferret came into the shows. The ferrets vaccinated with Galaxy D were fine, none were infected with the virus, but the ones who had been vaccinated with the "FERRET" aproved vaccine (From what I read in articles on the net.) DID become effectived and most died according to the stories. Another story was about an outbreak in CA where as the ferrets who contracted CDV and had been previously vaccinated with the "FERRET" aproved vaccine were REVACCINATED with Galaxy D and many survived. The ferrets who were originally vaccinated with Galaxy D were NOT infected. Let this be a "Strong"suggestion to any one who puts on a ferret show, CHECK distemper vaccines records, not just Rabies vaccine records and ADV test results. Please do not ask me to post the links as it has been a few years and I can't remember the sites I found this information on. I'm sure you will find these stories on the net if you do a little reasurch like I had. I have the write ups saved on another mailing adress but unfortunately I am unable to get into that one anymore. I know many vets in my area that use Galaxy D for protecting our ferrets against CDV and refused to use Fervac D and now Purevax. People need to remember that ferrets contract "CANINE" Distemper and since Galaxy D protects our Canines against CDV then it will certainly protect our ferrets against CDV. A word to any Skunk owners on here, Galaxy D is also the proven choice for protecting Skunks against CDV but also need to remember that skunks can also contract FDV (feline distemper virus) and should be vaccinated for that as well.
