I missed the Letterman appearance, but in a 2nd season ep of the Golden
Girls, they raise "mink" and have adorable ferrets in their garage as
the mink.

Also, on SciFi, a promo commercial for a new series "Warehouse 13"
shows a guy holding a ferret.
