HI friends- Its ME BLOSSOM- you know the prettiest gal at Ferret Wise! Blush, blush! We have news on our newest hospice kid... Maddie. The paperwork arrived today she is official, in the computer and a Ferret Wise resident! Mom Marilyn reports on newcomer Maddie-- who was so skinny the folks thought she had a ticket to rainbow bridge.. "She is showing more interest in things around her, she is eating kibble, I think it is mine, but kinda hard to tell sometimes, and is drinking, normally, and when I pick her up now, it is like picking up a bucket that is empty, they one with something in it. She has water if she wants it where she did not before. So, I think her tissues are getting the moisture they need now and that makes her feel heavier. She is friendly, reminds me of June's Angel, same shape head, black eyes, and all white. On the plus side, she is not scratching as much - still some, but not as bad, skin is not as dry where I can see it, not flaky anymore, and she is eating my soup, can hear her gulp it down, till she is full. She still sleeps a lot, but is spending more time exploring her cage. Can go up and down stairs like a ferret should, not dragging herself. That is the biggest improvement, she can move quickly up and down the ramps. When she first got here she was so weak, she could not. All in all, Monday night is one week, and she is doing well for the time I have had her. She eats, poops, drinks, and moves better so weight gain will come next. She was so far down it took a lot to get her up and going. ..." Yay Mom Marilyn! Phew- good job Maggie. Shelter Mom wants me to say "THANK YOU" to the shelter angels who sent a donation our way to help Maddie along. She is still quite bald on her head... but the Moms want to rule out hair loss due to malnutrition before they make any drastic plans. Maddie has a 3 tier cage all her own. She also is nudging a crocheted egg toy acting more like a ferret than when she arrived. AND today Monday afternoon she is chomping on dry kibbles that she digs out of the dish so things are looking up for dear Maddie. Also Maddie has ad og friend now named Hailey that is down on her luck-- she has lympho and is having a bad time with her meds. Can you all send her big doggie prayers.. Mom Marilyn would sure appreciate it! Meanwhile I am having a blast stealing n bones from Elric -- he has stated to back up when he see me looking at him-. but BARN-Y--- OOOH he makes me SCREAM!!!! Picking on me- grabbing my pretty little neck! He has been picking on me for several days again so Momma said he has to have another lupron. There take that mean boy!!!! Well I am about ready to write my Dear Blossom column for the next Frolic newsletter-- so please email me your questions so I can tell the whole world Blossom's answer! May the rain stop soon... so we can open up the windows again!!! Your friend at Ferret Wise Blossom, spokeferret www.ferretwise.org [Posted in FML 6296]
