We lost power here, a very normal event for Virginia. Sun comes up, power goes out. Church bells ring, power goes out. Tuesday comes, power goes. It gets cloudy, we loose power. Is the most unreliable power grid ever. Even living in the jungle of Viet Nam getting rocket and mortar attacks two or three times a week I had better power supply there than here in the capitol of Virginia. So I had a fire going in the fireplace insert. No blower of course but at least that was keeping the edge off so the pipes wouldn't freeze. I had to keep the doors open to let heat out and keep from burning the walls up on the insert. That of course let out smoke. Peekaboo got really concerned for her safety. She began screeching bloody murder. She was on a ramp screaming like the day I put bobby pins in her eyes. She started making little noises at first, but then that slowly graduated to full fledged screaming at a very high pitch. Of course I was concerned and went to see what was going on. She had no idea I was there being blind as she is. She was kind of crouched on a ramp pointing down screaming non stop. I reached in with my fingers and prodded her. She instantly stopped. Opening the door she leaped out frantically. Only thing I can figure is that the smoke struck fear into her and she was reacting seemingly for her life. My touch calmed her down and being able to snug in my arms she quieted. Guess one never knows how the mind of a ferret works. Gordon, Peekaboo, and Pester Rev.
