Hi ferret community, I read in one of the articles on Ollie the ferret, who almost wasn't returned to his owner after being lost, that Ellen DeGeneres was considering having Ollie and his owner on the show. Wouldn't that be great!!! We all get excited about a ferret in a commercial, imagine a ferret making onto a show, especially one as popular as hers. This would be a fantastic opportunity for ferrets and the ferret community. I wrote in and suggested that they use Ollie's story to begin a segment on the truths and realities of ferret ownership and the ferret community. We were portrayed as crazy on the PBS documentary "The Pursuit of Happiness". Maybe Ellen could show that instead of crazy we are just passionate people in love with a unique and often misrepresented companion animal. I think if we all got in touch with the show it would be hard to ignore our response. Animals are always a big hit on TV shows. She would certainly have the audience since, as you know, ferrets come in right after dogs and cats as companion animals. Most of all, ferrets love to dance just like she does! I also happened to mention that I would be sending the word out to the ferret community, and that she would probably be surprised by the number of responses. I hope you prove me right. PLEASE, contact the show and tell them how much you would enjoy a segment on ferrets and their care. Wolfy, maybe you and Sean could tell her about how ferrets helped Sean so much. PLEASE DON'T just asume others will do it. You can contact the show here: http://ellen.warnerbros.com/show/respond/?PlugID=10 Let's show her how strong, not crazy, our community is.
