I've stayed out of the controversy regarding Mr Lipinski, his comments, questions, & his beloved Bell Curve, up until now. But I must comment on this one. ~~~~~ Mr Lipinski: If you, in fact, have managed to dissect a ferret's ear, & are so intimately familiar w/ the structure, measurements, & ability to see down a ferret's ear canal, I assume you must be a veterinarian. I'm not sure under what other circumstances one would have such an opportunity to gather such knowledge. In my experience, most high school, college, & university biology & anatomy classes do not use ferrets as specimens. And, as one who has interned as a research assistant in the animal research section in a university psychology department, I certainly never worked w/ ferrets during the course of my education. If you *are* a vet, you know very well how to tell if a ferret is deaf.....which would make your questions condescending & facetious. If you are *not* a vet, why aren't you? You seem to have all the answers, after all.....which would make your questions irrelevant & tedious. Does it have something to do w/ that Bell Curve? As someone who has owned several deaf ferrets (& who currently owns 2), I'm just curious..... Lin, Max, Puck, Ivan, & Mason ~ Missing my angel Ariel - 20 April 2000 - 20 January 2007.
