The only reason I'm posting is because I've received a number of emails from past supporters asking if I had my rescues on the tree this year. God bless those who have cared enough to ask. Pics & stories were sent; however, I don't know what the status is. I looked tonite before sending this and rescue ferrets from the West Michigan Ferret Connection are not there. We wrapped the females in a hot pink boa this year and the boys in bright blue boas. The following ferrets that were sent for the Giving Tree this year are: Fizzy was 5 years old when she arrived in May 2007 along with her sis, Kilala. At her age, the odds of her and Ki (who was 3 years old then) are slim and none. Her coat is getting a little thin so it looks like Melatonin Time. (Melatonin implant, Totally Ferret ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Kilala was 3 years old when she arrived in May 2007 with her sis, Fizzy. The odds are good she and Fizz will be staying here until they cross over the Rainbow Bridge because very seldom do people want older ferrets. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Molly, sweet Molly. Molly is 6 years old and has been comfortably settled here since 2006. She loves to give kisses to those she favors and is quick to nip those she doesn't. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Bonnie is a 4 year old sable here with her brother, Clyde. ( ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Clyde is a 4 year old sable here with his sister, Bonnie. Clyde is adrenal. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Lilly is a 5 year old light chocolate adrenal girl who lost her brother, Bud, this past Spring. She grieved for a bit and is doing alright now; but she's quite satisfied to be a single ferret. ( ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Checkers is a 5 year old special ferret around here. He was a mascot at the Kent County Humane Society until they decided he was better off with me. He is addicted to chicken baby food. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Mo is a 4 year old adrenal chocolate boy who has been here with his sister, Pebbles, since 2006. He's not a real lovey guy and when he runs, he reminds me of a football player the way he spins and darts around. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Pebbles is a 4 year old adrenal sable girl who has been here with her brother, Mo, since 2006. George is approximately 6 years old and is my last link with a dear friend, Rebecca McFarland. When Reb died in 2006, I took 6 of her ferrets. George is the last remaining ferret. He is a champagne guy, very sweet. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Zucus is a 5 year old black sable guy, very sweet. After 5 years, his owner decided he didn't have time for him anymore. I feel so sorry for him but he has adjusted really well. He was being fed Marshalls and switched easily over to Totally Ferret. He's been ailing lately but has been doing well the last couple of days on turkey baby food. Snuggles is a 5 year old black sable male and lives up to his name. He and his sis, Nicole, have been here since August 2007 after a 23 day separation. Their reunion was beautiful. ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Nicole is a 5 year old chocolate girl who has been here since August 2007. She turned up under the back steps of a house in a nice residential neighborhood. I received a call from a woman who said I had her ferret but there was no response when I returned the call. 23 days later the woman called, said I had her ferret and did I want the other one (Snuggles). ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Dexter is a champagne boy approximately 4 years old. All the owner was able to tell me was he had Dex for a couple of years and he had gotten him from an animal shelter on the east side of the state. Of course, he thought Dexter was a female, too. He wasn't well cared for: long nails, needed a bath, filthy ears and was being fed Walmart food. ( ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Little Fiona was found wandering in a trailer park in a rural area. She's a pert little sable approximately 4 years. I don't think her feet touch the floor when she runs, she flits everywhere.
