Peanut, the hot Smithsonian web cam star of the year, is now available for adoption to support black-footed ferret research, protection and reintroduction. Peanut, son of Georgia and the long-deceased Butch, now lives at the National Black-Footed Ferret Conservation Center in Colorado where he will enjoy a studly life. Prefer to take a walk on the wild side? Consider adopting the wild- born and living free female ferret with the euphonious name "06-125." (She was the 125th wild-born kit tagged in 2006.) 06-125 lives in the Conata Basin of South Dakota and was taped moving her kits last summer: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=gtruS7RtH34 Adoptions make great holiday gifts.
