Peanut, the hot Smithsonian web cam star of the year, is now available
for adoption to support black-footed ferret research, protection and
reintroduction. Peanut, son of Georgia and the long-deceased Butch,
now lives at the National Black-Footed Ferret Conservation Center in
Colorado where he will enjoy a studly life.

Prefer to take a walk on the wild side? Consider adopting the wild-
born and living free female ferret with the euphonious name "06-125."
(She was the 125th wild-born kit tagged in 2006.) 06-125 lives in the
Conata Basin of South Dakota and was taped moving her kits last summer:
