The information about Barb Carlson's Hide-E-Hole Shelter was sent to me by a friend. Please be advised of the following fundraiser for Barb to be held on Thursday night, Nov. 6. It will be at the shelter and it is FREE. It is NOT an IFC function, but is always held the night before a symposium begins. Typically we raise several hundred dollars for a shelter. I know that in the past we usually took in close to $1000 in donations. In Canada it was about $600 and in Portland it was $500. There are usually adoptions from the shelter, too. If you are planning to attend the symposium, please attend the dinner. There will be food for carnivores, veggies and vegans. I will make sweet tea and coffee with chickory. And, there will also be beignets. No telling what all the locals will bring but I have heard of a few good things! You would probably pay $10 - 20 to go out to eat that night. Why not donate it to the shelter instead? There will be a donation jar available and it is NOT passed. You are able to donate or not as you are able. If 60-75 people show up (typical number) and everyone can donate $10, we would have a large pot for Barb. The door prizes that are donated are wonderful AND, if for some reason everyone does not get a doorprize, I will personally send them biscotti. (You will have to turn in your ticket to me with the name and address on it before we leave that night.)
