Buddy left us this morning after a long fight with multiple cancers. Last spring he was taken to UT Veterinary Hospital for an adrenal diagnosis. During the ultrasound the vet noticed a mass on his liver, along with some other questionable masses. A biopsy showed cancer, deemed inoperable by the UT vets. Buddy was given ferretonin implant to help with the adrenal symptoms and sent home to play and live for an estimated 6 months. He made it over a year. He did well until the last few weeks, when he began to rapidly lose weight. He quit eating Friday; was going to go in for a mercy shot this morning but passed on his own instead around 8 am. Buddy was a rescue abandoned by our neighbors 6 years ago, his estimated age was around 7. He was as bubbly, bouncy, happy of a ferret as anyone could wish for. We'll miss you, bada-bing-bada-boom-buddy-boy. Melissa (and Harry) Bell Merlin, Fae & Cabo Wabo...missing Mischief, Max and Buddy at the bridge [Posted in FML 6018]
