I agree. I had first been told it wasn't a ferret vet, and assured the ferrets had not been truly dehydrated. I do not know what was the case. The real issue I have, and that some people don't seem to understand, is that veterinarians often have to make decisions at animal shelters that other vets do not ever have to make. Part of their mission is to decide was is "adoptable" and what is not. They also decide what animals will not be able to be taken care of at the shelter. Not only unsaveable animals are euthanized, but animals that will require more care than the shelter can provide will be euthanized as well. This is just a fact of life, the way the system works. That is my major problem with the seizure. What is "unsaveable" can have different meanings. One that bites who could easily be tamed, would be put down by one vet and not by another, and according to different facilities, it might even be mandated. It's just a sad situation. I wish there was proof, pictures of the seizure, the animals who were allegedly in such bad shape they had to be put down. That would lay the whole matter to rest. Laryssa [Posted in FML 5875]
