> Petco DOES buy from Rainbow World Exotics NO, not does, they did. They tried them for a short time and was backing out before this came out about Petsmart. When it did come out, they dropped the rest of their purchases from them like a hot potato. Sorry, I know a lot of you HATE MF. My only cushion is they are inspected, they do have veterinarian care, a set up that is clean and not in a dark dungeon shack with no cleaning of cages, rain coming in, or the rest of the horror we hear about. Look what is going on in the dog world, SPCA raiding backyard breeders after backyard breeders in every state because of dead dogs/pups in the same kennels with live, living on wires that ruin their paws, not ever seeing daylight, bred time after time and not treated for health problems, etc. The one thing to consider in ferret backyard breeders - are they really better than Marshal Farms? Is this what you want. How many are willing to shuck out $1,000 or more to buy a ferret or have them shipped over from Europe that have less regulations than we do for care of animals. Whole ferrets are VERY STINKY, it is difficult for them to give birth, the kits smell worse than the parents. Most people are not going to raise them in their home and what is left but to build a shed for them, house them in the garage or barn and you are right back with bad care again. I am not standing up for MF, what I am saying is where is your alternative if you want to still have ferrets for pets. What is your solution? MF or backyard breeders or ferrets too expensive to own?
