My ferret began one morning by completely keeping his rear left leg stiff and dragging himself frog legged. Vet and orthopedic specialist ruled out fracture and it's been just over 3 weeks with no other signs to point to any other cause. He is now scooting more on the leg but when he tries to move faster or go the bathroom, he goes frog legged again. Has anyone dealt with a ferret with a sprain/strain rear leg? How long does healing take? Should they not be able to "limp" on just the three and this type of frog legging is normal and not indicative of a spinal or other issue? He is quite large at 3.7lbs so a lot of weight to lift. Any advice is much appreciated. scott/achilles [Posted in FML 5874]
