Howard stated: >Even the IRS gives us taxpayers time to get our s*** together by >April 15.... >Survey Question: Who of you are ready to file your taxes?... Don't assume small businesses can't do exactly that. I'm not discussing my opinion on this matter on this list, but I *will* say that I founded & ran my own small business (incorporated, w/ employees) for 12 yrs. I sold it 8 yrs ago, & it's still going strong today. It was my policy that, when the last paychecks of the yr were handed out in Dec, my employees *also* found their W-2's in the envalope w/ them. And my quarterly payroll taxes, state workers comp forms, & other state & federal tax papers were filled out & ready to mail in plenty of time. It's simply a matter of being organized, filing things (receipts for expenditures, incoming payment info, etc) immediately in the proper places, & staying on top of your paperwork. Not at all impossible, & in fact, *vital* to operating in an organized, responsible manner. I've heard it said that something like 10 - 15% of all small businesses close w/in their first yr. Lack of organization & record-keeping skills is one of the big reasons that happens. Lin, Oberon, Max, Puck, & Ivan ~ Missing my angel Ariel - 20 April 2000 - 20 January 2007.
