Two sweet boys, left on the street in a cage so filthy that the local animal control threw it out. Our temps have been in the single digits at night. Both boys are very, very thin, and very clingy. One sweet female, young, scared. Put in the night drop, at least she had protection. She is also very thin, and scared. One older gal, nekked. The minute I saw her I knew I had spoken to her owners at a educational event a week ago. This person stated she had surrendered her sons ferret to animal control as *he had no time for it* and she didn't know anything about ferrets. We then got on the subject of adrenal, and she described the ferret as having no hair on her back. That would be this sweet gal. I picked them all up yesterday. I have no room really. I moved some stuff in my work room, set up med cages, They have eaten non stop, poops look good. They will see my vet tomorrow. The old gal will get her surgery if/when she is strong enough. I will see what their issues are, and hopefully be able to help them know people can be kind. I know there are leftover DMK ferrets needing homes. I know there are many, many more just like these four. Local shelters are full of little souls, just waiting........ Ardith and four with no names, yet.
