Was a usual Sunday morning here, me on the computer answering the many e-mails and all. Later I migrated to the kitchen to get my drink and of course had to pass the fert cage and spend a bit of time. I added phood to the Jay feeder and checked the water. Peekaboo was there and came running out of her box, a 10 inch cube box made of wood I made, is lined with carpet and I have an old pillow case in there for added comfort. She was running up and down between the levels and was 'asking' to be let out. I was not going to where I leave for the paper but she was 'asking' so hard and steady I gave in and let her out. I picked her up and carried her around with me, she likes that and usually will stay in my arms till I put her down but today she wanted DOWN ! So I put her on the bed and played. She went spastic! Was jumping, war dancing and in a totally frenzy! She is almost totally blind and in one of her frenzied leaps she missed the edge of the bed but found the floor, THUD! That was only the beginning! From there she went racing up and down the hall crashing into doors, walls and all kinds of things she could not see. She was flipping, twisting, running, racing, doing all the things a war dancing fert does. She came to me and insisted on climbing up inside my pant leg over and over. When I kept pushing her out she tried to get into a shelf that is far above where she can reach but climbing up the front of the commuter desk! Persistent little creature! How she knew there was an opening on that top shelf (the lower ones are covered with wire mesh to keep fuzz butts out) is beyond me. But up she went and I had to collect her out of there several time. Then all at once she ran back to the cage, went to the 5th floor and went to sleep! Just like turning on and off a circus spot light! Who knows what goes on in the minds of a carpet shark! Gordon, Peekaboo and Anxious Rev. J.
