For those of us being owned by ferrets and loving the little meerkats on Meerkat Manor, Flower's death was a shock to thousands of people (many more than I would ever have guessed) the whole world over! Animal Planet has a website devoted to Flower http://animal.discovery.com/fansites/meerkat/flower/flower.html and if you go there, the page will bring up a pic of Flower with various links. Please click on the first one (talk about Flower - online discussion). When the page comes up, you may have to Refresh your PC page (mine does this 50/50), and then a list of ALL the discussions will come up. I started the one named Flower's Condolence List, which has grown to 10 pages at the moment, with almost all 50 states reporting in, as well as Canada, the UK, Scotland, and Ecuador! Please take a moment to go there and add your name (screen or real-you may have to create an 'acct', but the traffic will be a whole lot less than Friday night when the show aired), and add your city/state/country Please!! When this all calms down, I am going to print all these pages out, and send them to AP, the producers, the researchers, and anyone else I can find an address for - to let them all know how much we appreciate the show, and the hard work & risks they take to bring it to us ... After watching and reading all of the comments, it makes me appreciate my little horde of meerkat 'cousins' so much more. Thanks to all the FML members who check out the site (soooo much to see) and leave your name! Y'all are the best!! Jane (sunshine0805) in VA and the "Horrible Horde" Hear our humble prayer, O God, for our friends the animals. Especially for the animals who are suffering; for any that are hunted or lost or deserted or frightened or hungry; for all that must be put to death. We entreat for them all Thy mercy and pity and for those who deal with them, we ask a heart of compassion and gentle hands and kindly words. Make us, ourselves, to be true friends to animals and so to share the blessings of the merciful. written by Albert Schweitzer "We who choose to surround ourselves with lives even more temporary than our own live within a fragile circle; easily and often breached. Yet, still we would live no other way." - Irving Townsend [Posted in FML 5747]
