This is just a suggestion not anything against FAA they have done great things for the ferret community and in getting ferrets to new homes, however they are not the only transportation source. FAA could not easily provide transport for every ferret that needs to go to every new home or shelter. It would just be a huge undertaking, however why not take another avenue? There are dozens of other transoprt organizations out there that may be willing to help. http://groups.yahoo.com/group/TRUCK-N-PAWS http://groups.yahoo.com/group/PetTransportNet http://groups.yahoo.com/group/IMOM-xpress http://groups.yahoo.com/group/RescueTransport http://groups.yahoo.com/group/NHARescue http://groups.yahoo.com/group/allbreedrescue http://groups.yahoo.com/group/RescueAngelsonWheels And the list goes on. Most of these names were pulled from the listing on http://rainbowsbridge.com/ and there's many more to find just by serching the internet for volunteer pet transport. This could be very beneficial if the organization is already doing a run from Ohio to somewhere near a shelter or pottential adoptee. Some of these organizations could be more than willing to help out with transport just in itself for the ferrets. If FAA had to transport every ferret to their new home or shelter resources would be exhausted quickly. So attempt to contact other organizations to help spread the work around. This will get ferrets out of Ferrets Dream House faster and help lighten the load more quickly than by using one organization alone. Just because we're a ferret centered community doesn't mean that other organizations won't help out on behalf that they are, in general, a rescued animal and need the same help and support as all others. -- Samantha Newcomb AFA Shelter Committee Director Shelter Director,The Frazzled Ferret Org.
