FYI for anyone looking for lodging, Shawnee State Park is about 20 minutes from Lori Sies' shelter. It has two cabins that each sleep up to five people with a mini-fridge, microwave and heat. Each cabin has two bunk beds and one full-size bed. Hot showers, flush toilets and a camp store are nearby. You bring your own cooking gear, utensils and plates, linens and bedding, and food. The cabin is $50 per night with tax included. The park also has a resort lodge with reasonable room rates and plenty of regular campsites. Here's the website for online reservations and an availability calendar: <http://www.dnr.state.oh.us/tabid/788/default.aspx> Also, anyone deploying may want to bring tarps, clothesline/rope and clothespins or shower rings, cleaning supplies and paper towels for the ferrets; and for yourself, bring hand sanitizer and baby wipes, towel and washcloth, toilet paper, plastic trash bags, bedding/sleeping bag and toiletries, heavy duty gloves, rubber gloves, flashlights and extra batteries, shoes and clothing you won't mind throwing away, a hat, rain gear, warm clothing (it gets COLD at night if you are camping) and snacks and drinks. Wear something with lots of pockets. Try to be as self-sufficient as possible. I will be driving via Cleveland and can head back through either PA or Ohio/western NY if kids need to be dropped off.
