I read that hundreds of ferrets were released from the Mckay Farm on the FML today. The daughter was going to continue on with the breeding when the father decided to retire. What prompted her to give them all up? They were always willing to sell a large number of ferrets at a time. So I hope no one is upset with me, as if ALL the ferrets are gone, and these people have agreed not to breed again and signed something to confirm this...I am truly happy for all the unborn ferrets that will never face the misery the ones there live in. But I do not know the situation. Could you please tell us? I am not in the loop. I am not on any ferret sites other than health list and FML. I cannot find your web page for your shelter and have never heard of you. PLEASE...almost every shelter out there could know you well. I just have not. PLEASE do not be offended. I just want for people to be sure they understand the situation correctly. Most of us have some pretty huge hearts here. And we want to be trusting. And we love the little guys. Are ALL the ferrets in your care? Are only half of them surrendered so the rest can continue breeding? Are they at your place now? How many are there? Do you have a web site? Are any of these adults tame, or were they all basically wild and abused and kept in small crampt miserable cages as we saw in the photos that were taken? How many are there? For all I know, you are the daughter. Sorry. But if anyone else out there also has info to share...it would help people understand what is happening. My true apologies for my lack of knowledge. I am thinking of the safety of the members here. No one wants to send money to what they think is a worthy cause, and find out it has all been a scam. Did the family put in writing that there breeding would now end? Or is this just a big dump? I wrote something awhile back tabulating the possible expense involved. It was enormous. Sorry if I am concerned. I hope those of you in the loop will forgive me my ignorance. I truly do not know the situation. Thank you Lisette [Posted in FML 5735]
