I hate to see one breeder singled out. Bad things happen to ferrets whether they are rescues and you don't know their pedigree, or from pet shops, or breeders. I recently bought one because I've lost so many over the years that I have taken in and given a home to only to watch them die too soon. I bought from a highly reputable breeder and after I'd only had the ferret a year he was diagnosed with kidney problems and dilated cardiomyopathy. I won't have him long and it's breaking my heart because I love him dearly. The point of my message is though that I would never blame the breeder or reveal that person's name to a public list because the ferret was sold as a healthy ferret and had vet check-ups, etc before selling. The person did all they possibly could to ensure I'd have a healthy ferret and unfortunately it's just the luck of the draw sometimes. Laurel [Posted in FML 5705]
